Hello everyone. I know a lot of you has
been waiting for me to post an update for Korean dramas. I truly apologize for
not posting anything for the longest time. I have been busy since I moved to
the US. The funny part, though I haven’t posted an update yet, but I have been
watching Korean dramas since I got here. Without further ado, here’s the second
part of my list. Click here to check out my first (long!) list if you still
haven’t.

GOBLIN
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★★
Main Cast:
Gong Yoo as Kim Shin (939 years old,
goblin)
Kim Go Eun as Ji Eun Tak (19, human
bride)
Lee Dong Wook as Wang Yeo (late 30s,
grim reaper)
Yoo In Na as Kim Sun / Sunny (mid-late
20s)
Yook Sung Jae as Yoo Duk Hwa (mid-late
20s)
My Short Review: THIS! If you haven’t
watched this yet, please do! Goblin definitely made it to my number one spot of
my favorite Korean dramas of all time. I don’t have any complaints at all, it’s
perfect even with its flaws. The plot, cinematography, the chemistry between
the cast, the bromance, and of course, I love how it doesn’t have a cringe-worthy
love triangle. I truly love the writer of this drama, Kim Eun Sook. She is also
the one who penned Descendants of the Sun, The Heirs, A Gentleman's Dignity,
Secret Garden, and Lovers in Paris which happened to be all my favorites.

WEIGHLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★★
Main Cast:
Lee Sung Kyung as Kim Bok Joo
Nam Joo Hyuk as Jung Joon Hyung
Kyung Soo Jin as Song Shi Ho
Lee Jae Yoon as Jung Jae Yi
My Short Review: I cried so much when
this show ended. This truly hits a home run. Such a feel-good journey from
start to finish, and with a perfect happy ending. I love how the storyline
tackles topics that most of us have been through at one time or another – first
love, one sided love, breaking up/heartbreak, fighting with friends, a sick family
member, and more. These things are what most of us are experiencing on daily
basis. Cast wise, I can’t express enough how wonderful I thought the acting was,
not just the main leads, but all the actors in this drama truly gave life to
their roles. The chemistry between them, Lee Sung-kyung and Nam Joo-hyuk, is
too damn real! I truly wish they would date in real life. Haha! I could
honestly go on and on about how awe-mazing this drama is, and never run out of
positive things to say. If you haven’t watched this yet, please do!

LEGEND OF THE BLUE SEA
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★☆
Main Cast:
Jun Ji Hyun as Se Hwa / Shim Chung
(mermaid)
Lee Min
Ho as Kim Dam Ryung / Heo Joon Jae (27, conman)
Lee Hee
Joon as Jo Nam Doo (31, golfer conman)
Shin Won
Ho as Tae Oh (25, hacker conman)
My Short Review: Lee Min Ho had me with
that French kiss! #YahBoiKnowHowTokiss! Haha Sorry, but that’s always my
complaint about every drama. They just don’t kiss properly. Lol Anyways, the
story is about the fateful love between a skilled conman and a mermaid. Unlike
the Little Mermaid story, this one has a happy ending. The
series wasn't perfect, but I had fun watching it. It has been a pleasantly
funny ride from episode one till its finale. The writing was good. I like the
clever twists and plot reversals. And of course, I can’t deny that the
chemistry between the cast was awesome.

ROMANTIC DOCTOR, TEACHER KIM
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★★
Main Cast:
Han Suk Kyu as Teacher Kim / Bu Yong
Joo
Yoo Yun Suk as Kang Dong Joo
Seo Hyun Jin as Yoon Seo Jung
My Short Review: This drama stole and warmed my heart. Han Suk
Kyu played his character so well as a Romantic Doctor. His
expressions/reactions when delivering his lines made such a compelling and
wonderful character. I learned so much from this drama. There weren’t many
love-storyline scenes between Seo-jung/Dong-joo, but I think that’s what makes
them more interesting. The relationship between the two helps maintain the
balance between drama and comedy. And I thought the show finished their love
story well. Also, props to the writer for giving some heartwarming storylines
to each character.

SHOPPING KING LOUIE
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★☆
Main Cast:
Seo In Guk as Louie / Kang Ji Sung
Nam Ji
Hyun as Go Bok Shil
Yoon Sang
Hyun as Cha Joong Won
Im Se Mi
as Baek Ma Ri
My Short Review: Light and feel-good. A
simple but beautiful love story, not the typical against all odds which happened
to be a-must in Kdrama. I started watching this out of curiosity, with not much
expectation at all, but soon I found myself giggling and falling in love with this
wonderful drama. All the feelings and characters in the story were so genuine
and no one felt unreal or one-dimensional. I am also impressed by how
incredibly detailed the storytelling was. Even the smallest detail has an
impact to the storyline. Give this drama a try, you won’t regret it.

LET’S FIGHT GHOST
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★★☆
Main Cast:
Ok Taecyeon as Park Bong Pal (23)
Kim So Hyun as Kim Hyun Ji (19/24)
Kwon Yool as Joo Hye Sung (31)
My Short Review: This drama was
unexpectedly good. I initially thought that this will just be another boring
ghost story. I watched this because of Kim So-hyun, as when it comes to acting
she never disappoints me. But to my surprise, this show turns out to be a gem,
it was more than just the usual rom-com. I laugh out loud, and I even cried. The
storyline was delivered perfectly. Special effects were good, very well planned
storytelling, and of course, the characterization was excellent. Even the
cameos, they were all so good. Each episode came with a surprise, and the
ending was fitting for the show. It wasn’t all a neat little bow but it works
for me! TVN truly proves that they sure do make good dramas.

BEAUTIFUL GONG SHIM
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★☆☆
Main Cast:
Nam Goong Min as Ahn Dan Tae (32)
Bang Min Ah as Gong Shim (24)
Ohn Joo Wan as Suk Joon Soo (28)
Seo Hyo Rim as Gong Mi (28)
My Short Review: A cute drama. Cute and
innocent characters. There are plot holes, but I can't deny that this drama had
me smiling all the way through to the end. I love how the storylines are all
tied up, and the main characters got their happy ending. Though it's not
perfect, but this drama is a gem.

W- TWO WORLDS
Ratings: ★★★★★★★★☆☆
Main Cast:
Lee Jong Suk as Kang Chul
Han Hyo Joo as Oh Yun Joo
My Short Review: I love this drama
because of Lee Jong Suk. But too bad I can only give this 8/10. Two Worlds wasn’t
able to keep the amazing storyline for long. The beginning was mind-blowing but
at the end, I had many questions in mind that wasn’t answered. Anyway,
regardless of the plot holes, this drama is still one of those that I would still
recommend watching.

THE K2
Ratings: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Main Cast:
Ji Chang Wook as Kim Je Ha (K2)
Song Yoon
Ah as Choi Yoo Jin
Im Yoon
Ah as Go Anna
Jo Sung
Ha as Jang Se Joon
My Short Review: This is not a rom-com
but I thought I’d add this here as I love this drama. I watched this because of
Ji Chang Wook, but it’s Song Yoon Ah’s character that draw me
to stay. Choi Yoo Jin’s character was evil, but damn, I love her. I even hoped
that Ji Chang Wook’s character would fall in love with her. She needs that
love. I have a lot of unanswered questions about the main characters, but
still, I think this drama was worth my time.

MOON LOVERS: SCARLET HEART RYEO
Ratings: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Main Cast:
Lee Joon Ki as Wang So, later King
Gwangjong (4th Prince)
IU as Go Ha Jin / Hae Soo
Kang Ha Neul as Wang Wook, later King
Daejong (8th Prince)
Hong Jong Hyun as Wang Yo, later King
Jungjong (3rd Prince)
Kim San Ho as Wang Mu, later King
Hyejong (1st Prince)
Yoon Sun Woo as Wang Won, later Crown
Prince Hyoeun (9th Prince)
Byun Baek Hyun as Wang Eun, later
Prince Gwangjoowon (10th Prince)
Nam Joo Hyuk as Wang Wook / Baek Ah,
later King Ahnjong (13th Prince)
Ji Soo as Wang Jung, later Vice King
Moonwon (14th Prince)
My Short Review: This drama is what we
call, a beautiful mess. Too many plot holes, too many unanswered questions, I
wasn’t happy with the ending, but all in all – I had fun watching this. Though
the storytelling was horrible and I cried buckets of tears, I still think that
this drama has a special place in my heart. This will always be one of the
dramas that I truly adored.

HWARANG: THE BEGINNING
Ratings: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Main Cast:
Park Seo Joon as Moo Myung / Sun Woo
Go Ah Ra as Kim Ah Ro
Park
Hyung Shik as Kim Sam Maek Jong / Kim Ji Dwi
My Short Story: I watch this show for
the good-looking guys and bromance. Yes, I just said that. That was the reason
I watched it as I gave up on the lousy storytelling along the way. But to be
fair, the cast gave their best in playing their roles. I wish them all good
luck and hopefully they will get a much better project in the future, with a
strong and interesting storyline.

CINDERELLA AND THE FOUR KNIGHTS
Ratings: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Main Cast:
Jung Il Woo as Kang Ji Woon (20)
Ahn Jae Hyun as Kang Hyun Min (20)
Park So Dam as Eun Ha Won (20)
Lee Jung Shin as Kang Seo Woo (20)
Choi Min as Lee Yoon Sung (25)
Son Na Eun as Park Hye Ji (20)
My Short Review: I added this in my list
because even though there are so many plot holes in this drama, I think I also
had a little fun. Plus you get to see handsome faces on your screen.
