Hong Kong Disneyland: A freezing but fun day at the happiest place on Earth.

It’s been 4 years. Time really does fly huh? Pictures are scattered everywhere, and I am trying very hard to recall what we did that day. But let’s give it a shot!

There is absolutely no way you can leave Hong Kong without going here! As a child I always dreamed of visiting the world of cartoons – Disneyland. And 20 years later, my Husband fulfilled that dream of mine. Disneyland is a place which brought me back my childhood days and I felt just like another happy, optimistic, innocent child going there and wished that feeling could exist forever. It was a great experience indeed except for the cold weather. We were freeeezing! Haha

Disneyland is located in Lantau Island. The best and fastest way to reach the Theme Park is to take the MTR. It’s about 30 minutes from anywhere in the city. Going to Disneyland is pretty easy; prices aren’t so bad as well. I will be writing a separate post on how to get there and the prices. For now, let me share with you our Hong Kong Disneyland experience first…and of course with pictures…tons of them! *wink*

Definitely Japan. Definitely Kojie.san

Fair/white skin can make an appearance look elegant, pretty and seductive. Many countries consider white skin beautiful, and Philippines is one of those countries. I must admit I didn't give my skin that much attention when I was kid. But growing up, and seeing all these “in-your-face” marketing ads for whitening products gave me that burning desire of giving those products a try. “I wish to be as beautiful and white as she is.” That’s what I normally say whenever I see someone with fairer or whiter skin. I just have had that feeling I will look so much better if I have a skin as white as those people in Television. Yes, I know my standard of beauty is a bit weird. I am Asian, I love my beautiful brown skin, but I can’t hide that I also wish to have a fairer skin. I am not ashamed of my own skin color, or my race, I just want to feel good about myself.

Lunch at The Reef - Camayan Beach Resort in Subic Bay

Yes, travel isn't travel without eating, that’s my personal belief! And if you are wondering about the food when we're in Camayan Beach Resort – it was quite okay. They only have one restaurant in the resort, and that's “The Reef”. It’s offering stunning views of the Subic beach, and serves a wide range of Filipino and international cuisine – price ranges from Php150 – Php300 pesos.

Menu is similar to a normal Filipino restaurant and I think their prices are reasonable. We ordered food and drinks at the same time, and it was at least another 15 minutes before the food arrived. Here's what we ordered for lunch;

Camayan Beach Resort in Subic : A sweet escape from the city.

People in big cities live a hectic life, and sadly, we are one of those people. We are busy at work on weekdays, and trying to get occupied on the weekends without spending too much money. Well some choose to spend more to have fun. Anyway, because of the hectic schedules we seldom get a chance to hang out or go somewhere to get away from reality even just for few hours. Then one day, one of those not-so-busy weekend, Rex decided to have a road trip going to Subic. I’m glad I joined them. I had so much fun even just for a short time.

It took us about 2-3 hours to get to Subic. We went straight to Camayan Beach Resort. For the people who live in Manila, I think Subic is one of the places they choose to go when they want to spend time on the beach. It’s a place where you can lounge in the beach while having a great view of the Zambales mountain range and the sea, and you can swim whenever you want. The travel cost wouldn’t be as expensive as flying to Palawan or Boracay.

My List of Best Romantic Comedy Korean Drama - Most Highly Recommended

Hello everyone. I decided to create a separate blog post for additional Korean dramas. I thought this list is getting too long and some of you might be having hard time loading the page. Please click here to check the part 2 of this list.

I would say I used to hate Romantic Comedy dramas. And then I met my husband, Lee Min Ho. Oppps, don’t kill me! Haha! My feelings towards the typical romantic comedy are a lot like my feelings toward “Sodas”. I know they were crap, but some unspecified addictive chemical in them kept me drinking. And because I got too addicted to it, I came up with an idea to embark on a quest to find the good quality romantic comedies. I’ve been watching one romantic comedy drama just about every night since 2012. My little project doesn’t come close to my college thesis research, but I did find some amazing Korean Drama gems. Feel free to scroll down below. Note that I have changed the arrangement of this list to “By Year”.

2016 South Korean Romantic Comedy Dramas:

Descendants of the Sun
Main Cast:
Song Joong Ki as Captain Yoo Shi Jin of the Alpha Team (aka Big Boss)
Song Hye Kyo as Professor Kang Mo Yun (aka Beauty)
Jin Goo as Chief Master Sergeant Seo Dae Young (aka Wolf)
Kim Ji Won as Lieutenant Yoon Myung Joo (Orthopedic Surgeon)
Kang Shin Il as Lieutenant General Yoon (Myung Joo's father) (aka Yellow Tiger)

My Short Review: Tell me ya’ll watched this drama already? Right? If you haven’t, what exactly are you doing? Haha! Song Joong Ki became one of my most favorite Korean actors since I watched him in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Innocent Man (Nice Guy). This guy, how can you not love him? He, alone, is enough reason to watch this drama. Lol Anyway, kidding aside, the drama was really good. The plot, the actors, the chemistry between the casts – total package. Plus you get to see tons of good-looking-shirtless actors running around.

Signal
Main Cast:
Lee Je Hoon as Park Hae Young (late 20s, profiler)
Kim Hye Soo as Cha Soo Hyun (mid 20s - late 30s, detective)
Jo Jin Woong as Lee Jae Han (mid 20s - mid 30s, detective)

My Short Review: Yes, this drama is not a Romantic comedy and shouldn’t be on this list, but Signal is no doubt one of the best Korean dramas of 2016. I have no idea what else can top this. The story is so smart, filled with great characters. Not so much on the love interest side, no big battle, but the best story you will ever find on a drama, a wonderful story (emotional, realistic, and dramatic) with things that will chill and warm you. Aside from the three main actors, who gave their best to portray their characters, I would also like to express my admiration to Jang Hyun Sung. The dude is freaking good, to the point that I want to kill him because he’s too evil (very convincing). I am giving this drama a perfect 10/10.

Gunny's Sandwich Shop in Lemoore, California (Permanently Closed)

I have absolutely nothing to blog about today. Thought I’d have my husband rescue me and write a guest post, but the thing is he doesn’t like writing. Ha-ha! Anyway, I remember him sending a bunch of pictures of Gunny’s Sandwich Shop, one of his favorite places. Daniel, just like me, loves to eat, and I know I am stating the obvious! Per Daniel, when you find yourself in the mood for mouthwatering fresh tasting sandwiches, this is the place to come to.

Let me share with you Daniel’s experience at Gunny’s. Heck, he even did an interview with the owner. My Hubby rocks!

This place bakes 400 pieces of bread every day. Each day, should they have any left over, they donate those. Isn't that a good thing? On Fridays, they grill 160 lbs of TRI-TIP meat for Gunny's Friday Tri-tip Sandwiches.

Min Sok Saeng Deung Sim Korean Restaurant in Makati City

Let me start by saying I would recommend this place to anyone, even to my worst enemy! Haha! Min Sok Saeng Deung Sim is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant! If you have not given Korean food a try, like my friend Rex, this is a great place to start. Don't expect glamorous decor or interior design though, the main emphasis is on the food.

I have been going to different Korean restaurant for years and I have never had a bad experience. Yes, I am totally-completely-addicted not only to Korean Dramas but also Korean Food. I cannot deny the deliciousness of authentic Korean food and side dishes!

Samgyeopsal (Php300.00): We chose to order the very simple yet popular grilled dish called Samgyeopsal – this is consists of thick, fatty slices of pork belly meat - served with an assortment of sides. You can make each bit taste however you like by adding different condiments. This dish was actually voted as the top Korean dish by foreigners living in Korea. This is a must try dish that will leave you wanting more!

Quick and Easy: How To Add Social Networking Buttons To Your Blog

I was browsing online and get fascinated with those little social media icons I saw in few websites. I wanted to copy those and thought it would also be an effective, fast-loading method to expand my contact network and social reach. So, I spent few hours trying to find a website that could teach me how to put social media buttons on the side bar of my blog. But, blah! I couldn't find any. Oh well, I found some but it requires too much “coding”. I am too lazy to follow “copy this” or “paste this” and so on. But I did try them, and only end up having a little picture on the side but not clickable. Ugh, that was sad and disappointing!

And because of my laziness, I stumbled upon this great website, Social Media Button Maker. Definitely a heaven sent! And of course, I tried it right away. There are only 3 very easy steps to follow to get that cute little tiny buttons up and clickable on your blog. Here’s what I did.

Gangnam Style Korean Restaurant in Poblacion, Makati

Boss Jex is back from California. It is our company's tradition to "eat-out" whenever he is in Manila. And since we were all busy, we chose to have lunch at the nearest Korean Restaurant in the area, called "Gangnam Style Premium Korean BBQ". Here's what we ordered and our whole experience.

It took us almost an hour before we could start ordering our meal. We just happened to have difficulties choosing what to order. Also, the waitress wasn't too nice, and almost hesitating to give us assistance. Whenever we ask her something, she replies to us with a not-so-good attitude. Anyway, after we ordered, we were given these unlimited side dishes. Yes, that's a good thing and I loved it.

Leading Brand (white variant) vs. Shield (cleansing white) Product Review

I got excited when I was approached to write a review about two products; one that I have been using for a long time and the other one which is completely new to me.

I am an active person, I have a lot of work at home and even at my job, and I sometimes sweat too much. Being always on the go, I am very particular in choosing the right bath soap. I always choose something that keeps me feeling clean and fresh for a longer period of time. I have tried tons of soaps in the market but only few works good for me. Also, I have an incredibly sensitive skin that gets irritated easily, whether by the beauty products, whitening soaps, lotions, dirty water, or the environment. And because of that, I stick with mild anti-bacterial soaps as much as possible, just to be on the safe side.
